Message of the General Presidium for the Jubilee 2014

“Today, let us reach for the great goals and ideals of the founding time.”  - This is how the General Presidium invites the Schoenstatt Movement to enter its second century. The message was published last weekend and it is available to download.

Fr. Heinrich Walter – President of the General Presidium – looks back in gratitude for the past 100 years. “Since this founding hour we have experienced the guidance of the God of life and of history.” Along the years, God has spoken again and again through the development of the times, Church events, and the inspiration of many people. Fr. Heinrich Walter emphasizes in this context the importance of the Covenant of Love. “The covenant of love is the seed from which everything developed, it is the secure foundation encouraging us to take risks, and, finally, it is our essence that guides our thinking and acting” The covenant with the Blessed Mother leads into the depths of faith. It is a way to search for a relationship with God through Mary.

At the same time, Fr. Heinrich Walter talks about the hope that each one of us contributes to the building of the Covenant Culture with the renewal of the covenant of love on October 18th. By saying “Yes” to the covenant of love, everyone makes a missionary decision, “that will renew and transform us so that we can serve the evangelization of today's world in a more effective manner.” “We ask Mary to help us put aside our interests and go to the peripheries of society as our contribution to a more credible form of Church.”
