The Unity Cross - Symbol of our Mission
All pilgrims who will come to Schoenstatt and Rome will receive – as part of their pilgrims’ bag – a small replica of the Unity Cross, as sign and symbol of this centennial. Pope Francis will bless the crosses during the Audience in Rome and he will send us out to fulfill our mission.
This cross is the symbolic expression of this prayer from Heavenwards. Together – prayer and cross – point out to that which lies at the center of the Schoenstatt spirituality. Fr. Patricio Moore, responsible for the celebrations in Rome, emphasizes that “The Unity Cross expresses this two-in-oneness between Christ and Mary, which has its roots in Christ’s legacy to humanity as He hung on the cross.
All those who are not able to participate from the festivities in Schoenstatt and Rome will be able to acquire them through the national contact person or through other pilgrims.
