Pilgrim Pass

Who is eligible for the reduced price tickets?

Reduced pilgrim pass tickets are available for all youth between 16 and 27 years of age who are not in employment, as well as for families with children. Children under three years of age will receive a ticket gratis. You can find more information and the price list here.

How do you calculate a family concession ticket?

For families with children under 19 years of age, you only pay for the first two children, the other tickets are gratis. These children however must all belong to the same family and all children, regardless of age, must be registered by name.

One example of a family concession ticket:

• Child 1 (20 years old, not employed): Youth concession ticket (Youth price).
• Child 2 (17 years old, employed): Youth concession price (Youth price) à this is the first registered child under 19 years of age.
• Child 3 (14 years old): Concession ticket (Child price) àthis is the second registered child under 19 years of age.
• Child 4 (11 years old): Ticket gratis.

How does my registration get to the international ticket office in Schoenstatt, Germany?

If you make a booking with accommodation in a Hotel or Youth Hostel, IQ Incoming will forward your booking to the international ticket office.

If you make a booking without accommodation or with the deal Schoenstatt – Youth, all bookings either as a single pilgrim or as a group, are forwarded by the national registration office to the international ticket office in Schoenstatt, Germany.

Are the prices for the pilgrim pass different according to your national registration office?

The attached price list for the passes is what the national registration office pays the international ticket office. The prices within a country are the responsibility of the national offices. It is possible this is more expensive due to all banking and transfer fees which all countries have to cover the cost of. This no doubt varies from country to country depending on the exchange rate.

How do pilgrims receive their passes?

If you book via IQ Incoming with accommodation your tickets will await you at your hotel or hostel.

All details on how to pick up your tickets for individual pilgrims or pilgrims with simple accommodation will be published at a later date.

Groups

How do you define a group?

Members of a group all choose the exact same package deal with accommodation and those without accommodation the same type of pilgrim pass e.g. 3 day ticket etc. A group leader is required as contact person for every group.

Can you also book simple accommodation for the celebrations in Rome?

No, simple accommodation is only available in Schoenstatt.

Can a minor book the package deal Schoenstatt – Youth?

The package deal Schoenstatt – Youth can only be booked by youth aged between 16 and 27 years old. All minors under 18 years of age require the official written permission of their parents who have to name a responsible adult for their child for this time.

Can male and female youth build a group?

Since the accommodation will be allocated according to gender, male and female youth cannot build one group for the package deal Schoenstatt – Youth.

Travel Insurance

Do you have to purchase travel insurance?

If you book with accommodation via IQ Incoming travel insurance (accident, health and third party liability) is according to your country included in the package deal.

Pilgrims who have a pass without accommodation or who have booked the Schoenstatt – Youth package are responsible for their own appropriate insurance.

Visa

Will pilgrims require a visa to enter Germany? Will they be given a letter of invitation?
