Pilgrim Arena
Next to the Original Shrine and the resting place of Father Kentenich, we have the Pilgrim Arena as the third central place of our jubilee pilgrimage in Schoenstatt. This arena which was set up for the 100 year birthday celebrations of Father Kentenich in 1985 and was also used in 2005 for the international youth festival held before the world youth day in Cologne, will be renovated so that it has a seating capacity for 12,000 people. The renovation plan was presented at the May reception of the Schoenstatt Movement by Lothar Ruf who is Professor of Construction Management and Engineering as well as Project Management at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Not only will everything be proofed or benches renewed, but the drainage, electrics and new points of access will be renewed and put in place. This necessary work shall be completed by the beginning of October.
